On the fringes of Abu Dhabi, the Al Ghadeer community is a developing neighborhood. There were only about 2,000 homes in the project at one point. The developer Aldar, later announced an extension into the current Al Ghadeer neighborhood and renamed the residential area Al Ghadeer in response to growing demand. About 14,408 residential properties, including 11,785 apartments (sometimes called maisonettes), 449 villas, and 2,174 townhouses, make up the expanded Al Ghadeer Abu Dhabi project. Schools, a hotel, public gardens, health facilities, communal swimming pools, an equestrian center, sports facilities, and community centers are among the other features included in the proposal.
